TORONTO, June 5, 2006 /CNW/ BREAKWATER RESOURCES LTD. (TSX – BWR) (“Breakwater”) is pleased to announce that effective immediately Dave Langille has joined the senior management team of Breakwater Resources Ltd. as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Langille possesses an undergraduate degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Business Administration as well as both CA and CMA designations. Mr. Langille achieved his CA designation in 1987 with Price Waterhouse.

After achieving his CA designation, Mr. Langille moved to the mining industry where he worked with Augmitto Explorations and then TVX Gold Inc. for approximately eight years until 1997. Following his tenure at TVX, Mr. Langille held senior financial roles with a number of other employers including Cott Corporation, Capital Environmental Resources Inc. and Lindsey Morden Group Inc. Mr. Langille was CFO at the latter two companies.

In making the announcement George E. Pirie, President and CEO stated, “Dave brings to his new role a wealth of experience, both domestically and in the international arena. He is a valuable addition to our management team.”
